History

Charles “Charlie” A. J. Beavers, Jr. is a former partner of Bradley Arant Boult Cummings LLP where he was a member of the firm’s Real Estate Practice Group. After 35 years with Bradley, Charlie established Beavers Law, LLC in January 2020, where he continues to practice primarily in the field of real estate law.

Charles A. J. Beavers, Jr.

Charlie has been representing clients with respect to real estate law matters for over 40 years. His primary areas of law include the acquisition, sale and development of real properties, including rezonings, subdivisions and other land use matters before elected governing councils and commissions and before appointed boards and committees. These matters have included residential and office condominiums, retail commercial and office developments, automobile dealerships, mixed-use town center projects, office parks, large residential communities with mixed densities, coal mines (long wall and surface) and other mineral extraction operations, nursing homes and independent living facilities for the elderly. Charlie also regularly represents property owners in condemnation proceedings and is experienced in municipal annexations. His practice includes the negotiation and preparation of real estate sale and purchase agreements, restrictive covenants, commercial loan documents, leases, development agreements and other documents related to the transfer and development of real properties.

Charlie has served as the Chairman of the Real Property, Probate and Trust Section of the Alabama State Bar Association. Further, Charlie has taught real estate law as an adjunct professor at The University of Alabama School of Law and has made presentations on many occasions at continuing legal education seminars.

Charlie is listed in Chambers USA and The Best Lawyers in America, and has an AV Preeminent Rating with Martindale-Hubbell.

Edna has many years of experience in the closing of real estate sales and acquisitions and assists in all types of real estate matters, including ad valorem tax appeals, applications for annexations and rezonings, and the preparation of real estate purchase agreements, restrictive covenants, association documents, and real estate closing documentation.
